Hartsdown 6th form continues to offer an excellent post 16 education in our purpose built 6th form centre. This allows students to have the support available from a school whilst encouraging independence and maturity.
Curriculum
At Hartsdown Academy we are proud to offer the International Baccalaureate Careers-Related Programme (IBCP). The IBCP provides a robust and challenging curriculum for our students, enabling them to study both vocational courses and Diploma subjects and ensuring that they are prepared for excellent futures after completing Sixth Form, whether that is in an apprenticeship, employment or university.
IBCP Pathway
As part of the IBCP students will also study the core programme, which is designed to foster a love of learning and equip students with essential skills and knowledge to become world-ready citizens.
Vocational Pathway
Alongside IB courses we offer students a practical, career-focused option, designed to develop real-world skills, confidence, and independence. Through high quality vocational qualifications, students gain hands on experience, industry relevant knowledge, and transferable skills that employers and universities value. Our courses combine classroom learning with applied assessment, strong pastoral support, and clear progression routes into higher education, apprenticeships, or employment. We are committed to ensuring every student is challenged, supported, and prepared to succeed in their chosen pathway beyond Sixth Form.
