University of Suffolk Online Summer School

The University of Suffolk residential summer school programme has been moved online for 2020.

The virtual event is an opportunity for college and 6th form students to get an insight into university life from current University of Suffolk students and staff as well as receive advice and practical guidance.

Many students have missed out on attending UCAS fairs, university open days & visits and starting their preparations for university applications in the past few months. Uni Camp is great chance for students to find out more about university and get back on track with their journeys into higher education. The event will be open to Year 13 students as well those in Year 12 (or equivalent) with information on how to make the most of clearing and looking at options for after results day in August.

The event will run over 3 days, Wednesday 5th – Friday 7th August. Students are able to take part in all 3 days or choose to attend the sessions and workshops they are most interested in. Workshops/sessions will cover:

  • Preparing for university (UCAS applications, writing a personal statement, finance, making the most of clearing etc.)
  • University life (Q&A with current students, student skills, life on campus etc.)
  • Academic courses (taster sessions with UOS lecturers, research skills, student experiences etc.)

Current students and staff will be on hand during all of the sessions to answer any questions in chat boxes and students will not need to use their camera/microphone. Students will be able to access sessions through their internet browser and will not need to download any specialist software.
