Curriculum

Year 7

Games. This involves a variety of opportunities from Invasion to Net/Wall and Striking and fielding events. Working co-operatively as part of a team, with lots of opportunity to experience competition.

 

 

Gymnastics. This involves using the body to aesthetically create unique movements using a variety of:  balances, rolls and different forms of travel, using different levels and speed to produce performances which are then peer assessed during lessons.

Athletics. This involves the use of running, throwing and jumping and adopting the correct techniques in order to produce a measured or timed performance. This is an individual pursuit.

O&AA. This involves using a variety of problem solving tasks to develop communication and leadership opportunities within the lesson. This also involves the use of maps and orienteering and most importantly the skill of working as part of a team

Year 9

Games. This involves a variety of opportunities from Invasion to Net/Wall and Striking and fielding events. Working co-operatively as part of a team. with lots of opportunity to experience competition.

Health Related Fitness. This activity involves using a variety of fitness tests in order to identify an individual’s strengths and weaknesses, then a number of training methods are used in order to improve general fitness.

KS4 Exam Board and spec

Sports Science Cambridge National Level 1 / 2 OCR.

Units covered: Training Principles, Bodies Response to Physical Activity, Sport Psychology, Sports Injuries

KS5 Exam Board and spec

Sport & Physical Activity Cambridge Technical Level 3. Units covered: Body Systems, Sports Coaching, Working Safely in Sport. Sport Organisation and Development. Sport Psychology. Sports Injuries.

KS3 Resources

A variety of equipment including the use of: Netballs, Basketball, Footballs and Rugby balls. Also the use of Badminton and Tennis Equipment. All students have the use of a Gym, Sports hall and 3G pitch and Netball Courts.

KS4 Resources
