There are 2 dedicated Art classrooms all with interactive whiteboards. There is a wide range of practical resources for use in the classroom environment.

The department is fortunate to have a brand new music room with multiple practice rooms and a MAC suite this allows students to explore a range of instruments as well as exploring the technical side of music.
Performing Arts and Dance
The school has a new Dance studio allowing students to develop their dance skills. Students also have incredible opportunities to perform both in school and at our annual performances at the Wintergarden.
Enrichment
Hartsdown is famous for it’s annual performances which often involve local primary schools.
Hartsdown works with local and national artists to give students opportunities to develop their skills. This has included art installations at the Turner gallery and being part of an art installation with Tracey Emin and other artists.
Hartsdown has a range of Art clubs including photography, art, drama, dance, performing arts and more.
As well as running our own competitions we have had considerable success in national art competitions including UCA’s annual competition.
