Please see the letter below for details of our transition day for our new year 7s.
In honour of a very virtual World Book Day last week, some of our MYP teachers came together to read an extract from Uncle Montegue’s Tales of Terror, by Chris Priestley, for students in our feeder Primary schools to enjoy. We hope you had a wonderful World Book Day and look forward to welcoming our new Year 7 students in September.
We are doing things a little differently this year, so would like to invite year 6 students and their parents/carers to join us for the following events to showcase our school:
Year 6 Open Evening – Monday 5th October 2020
Join our Virtual Open Evening from 4.00 – 5.00pm via www.hartsdown.org
This will include videos, new school building, question and answer session by the Headteacher and Head of Year.
Booking only, via Mrs Easton 01843 578000 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Bookable meetings are between 9.00am – 11.00am every morning until further notice.
All Covid-19 measures have been put in place to ensure that both you and staff are safe during the tour.
Students in years 7 to 9 will be able to borrow a locker (on a first come, first served basis) which are located in our new building. They will need to provide their own padlock. Mrs Wilson has been looking round the shops to find ones that fit and the best one she found was from Poundstretcher for £1.29. This is what it looks like. It also comes with 3 keys, we suggest the spares are kept safe with parents in case students lose theirs.
The Department for Education has released guidance for parents and carers to provide reassurance ahead of students returning to school next week.
It was wonderful to welcome our first group of year 6s. Although it was all socially distanced they had a great session.
We look forward to seeing them in September.
We have been working with Kent to help get students ready for their travel to secondary school.
